WET PAR WC: How To Set Up & Use

Introduction

This guide walks you through setting up and controlling your Rockville WET PAR WC wireless charging uplights. These lights can revolutionize your setup with their wireless charging, IP65 dust/waterproof rating, mobile (iOS/Android) app control and 5,430 Lux brightness rating! 

You will learn how to charge the lights, position and mount them, in addition to using onboard controls, wireless DMX controller, primary/secondary (master/slave) mode and the mobile app to create an endless array of lighting effects. The steps are simple and easy to follow, even if you have no technical experience.

Requirements:

✅Rockville LC70 or Similar Lighting Clamp (optional; for mounting)
✅Rockville Wireless DMX Controller (optional; for DMX control)
✅Rockville Par-Control App (optional; for App control)

Setup Guide

A.) Charging the Lights

If You Purchased the 6-Pack with Charging Case:

1. Place each light into a slot inside the wireless charging case.
2. Plug the included power cable into the power socket on the side of the case.
3. Plug the other end into a wall outlet.
4. Turn on the power switch on the side of the case. 
5. Once powered on, the LED indicators in the middle of the case will light up.
   • A red LED means the corresponding light is currently charging.
   • When the LED turns green, that light is fully charged and ready for use.

If You Purchased an Individual Light:

1. Plug the included charger into the charging port on the light.
2. Connect the charger to a wall outlet.
3. Wait until the battery is fully charged before use.
4. Positioning and Mounting the Lights

Charging / Battery Life Indicator:

• Full Green Bar → Plenty of battery life.
• Middle Bar → About 50% battery remaining.
• Last Bar Only → Low battery – plug the charger into the port beneath the power button.

B.) Positioning & Mounting the Lights

Positioning the Light with the Bracket:
Each light includes a built-in bracket on the bottom with adjustable angling.

1. Locate the ridges along the body of the light.
2. Align the middle piece of the bracket with one of the ridges.
3. Set the light down at your desired angle.
4. Adjust to different ridges for different tilt positions.

Mounting to a Truss or Stand:
The light has threaded mounting points for a lighting clamp like the Rockville LC70.

1. Remove the nut from your lighting clamp.
2. Align the clamp bolt with the threaded hole on the light.
3. Tighten the bolt securely.
4. Loosen the butterfly screw on the clamp.
5. Attach the clamp to your truss or stand.
6. Tighten the butterfly screw to secure the light in place.
7. Understanding the Onboard Controls

C.) Controlling the Lights

Power Button:

• Turns the light on and off.
• Lights will charge faster when off.

Display Screen:

• Displays battery life.
• Indicates if the light will respond to IR remote. 
• Shows the current mode and settings: 
  • Wireless Group ID
  • DMX Address (shown above)
  • DMX Channel Mode

Manual Control Buttons:
Located directly to the left and right of the main display.

• MENU ~ Cycles through different modes.
• ENTER ~ Confirms selections or enters submenus.
• Up & Down Arrows ~ Adjust settings such as: 
  • DMX address
  • Strobe speed
  • Auto mode speed
  • Fade settings
  • Sound sensitivity

Lighting Modes and Controls:

• Static Color Mode
  This allows you to select from 48 pre-set colors.
  1. Press the MENU button until you see COLOR SUB 01 ~ COLOR SUB 48.
     
  2. Use the Up / Down buttons to scroll through the 48 pre-set color options.
     
  3. Press the ENTER button to activate (optional) Strobe Effect.
     • Use the Up / Down buttons to set Strobe Speed.
       
• Jump Mode
  This allows you to activate and control automatic color changing.
  1. Press the MENU button until you see JUMP SPEED 01 ~ JUMP SPEED 09.
     
  2. Use the Up / Down buttons to adjust speed.
     
• Fade Mode
  This allows you to activate and control automatic color fading and pulsing.
  1. Press the MENU button until you see FADE SUB 01 or FADE SUB 02.
     
  2. If necessary, use the Up or Down button to select:
     • 01 → Color Fade Mode
     • 02 → Color Pulse Mode
  3. Press ENTER and use Up / Down buttons to adjust speed.
• Sound-Activated Mode
  Light reacts to sound or music via its built-in mic with sensitivity control.
  1. Press the MENU button until you see ♫ SUB 01 ~ ♫ SUB 04.
     
  2. Use the Up / Down buttons to select one of four Sound Modes: 
     • Sound Mode 1 → Color Cycle / Jump
     • Sound Mode 2 → Color Pulse
     • Sound Mode 3 → Color Strobe
     • Sound Mode 4 → Color Cycle + Pulse + Strobe
  3. Press ENTER and use Up / Down buttons to adjust sound sensitivity.
     • Higher values → More reactive to sound.
     • Lower values → Needs louder sounds to trigger changes.

Controlling With The IR Remote:

1	Brightness	Adjust brightness in any mode.
2	BLACKOUT	Turns LEDs off completely. Please note: This does not power down the light.
3	ON	Turns LEDS back on after Blackout, and returns them to previous function.
4	WIRELESS GROUP	Select 1 of 7 Wireless Group ID options using the ⇧ / ⇩ buttons.
5	APP GROUP	Select 1 of 4 App Groups options using the ⇧ / ⇩ buttons.
6a	Sound Modes	1 → Color Cycle
		2 → Color Pulse
		3 → Color Strobe
		4 → Color Cycle + Pulse + Strobe
6b	Sound SENSitivity	Increase/Decrease response to sound.
7a	SLAVE / DMX	Switch between setting the DMX Address and Channel Mode.
7b	SLAVE / DMX ⇧ ⇩	Set DMX Address (001~512) or DMX Channel Mode (6 or 10).
8a	AUTO MODE:  Cycle between →	JUMP Mode: Automatic cycling between colors.
		FADE 01 Mode: Continuous smooth transitions between colors.
		FADE 02 / Pulse Mode: Continuous pulsating between colors.
8b	MODE SPEED ⇧ ⇩	Controls speed for all modes above.
9a	STROBE	Create strobe strobe effect with any color selected.
9b	STROBE SPEED ⇧ ⇩	Adjust the speed of the strobe.
10a	COLOR BANK	Access 48 available preset colors.
11a	Color Selection	6 Color Wheels; each with 8 preset color options.
10/11b	COLOR ADJUST ⇧ ⇩	Cycle through preset colors.

D.) Wireless DMX Control
Using either the Rockville W2 or W4 Wireless DMX Controller up to 25 of our WET PAR WC lights can be connected. You can also use any other DMX controller or software interface (with 3-pin DMX output) to control up to 25 WET PAR WC lights, using our DMX-WTR Wireless DMX Transmitter. 

1. Turn on WET PAR WC lights.
2. Power on your controller and activate Wireless DMX.
   • If using Rockville W2 or W4 Wireless DMX Controller; Turn On the WIRELESS switch.
   • If not using Rockville W2 or W4 Wireless DMX Controller; Connect the DMX-WTR to an AC power source.
3. Set all lights to the same Wireless Group ID.
   • Press the MENU button until you see 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07 or oFF with the corresponding Wireless Group ID color. 
     
   • Use the Up / Down buttons to select one of the 7 available ID codes.
     • Example: 04 → Blue 
        
4. Match the Wireless ID on the DMX Controller or Transmitter.
   • Locate the WIRELESS ID button on the back of the controller, or the ID Key button on the transmitter.
     
   • Press the button to cycle through different colors.
   • Select the color matching the Wireless Group ID set on each light.
     • Example: Blue
   • Once synced, the controller or transmitter should display a flashing red light, indicating a successful connection.
5. Disable MASTER Mode.
   • Press the MENU button until you see MASTER on or MASTER oFF.
     
   • If you see MASTER on, use the Up or Down button select MASTER oFF.
     
6. Set DMX Mode and Address.
   • Press the MENU button until you see DMX ADD 001 ~ DMX ADD 512.
     
   • Use the Up / Down buttons to set the address to A001 for Scanner / Fixture 1, or to a different address corresponding to another scanner / fixture (specified by your DMX controller).
     
   • The Wireless Group ID Icon will flash / blink, indicating it's synced with the controller or transmitter.
     
     • The Wireless Group LED on the controller or transmitter should also flash / blink, indicating a successful connection.
   • Press the MENU button until you see DMX CH. SLAVE.
     
   • Use the Up / Down buttons to select between 6-Channel Mode and 10-Channel Mode based on the level of control you need.
     • 6-Channel Mode → Allows color mixing (Red, Green, Blue, White, Yellow/Amber, Purple/UV).
     • 10-Channel Mode → Allows color mixing with Master dimmer, plus Strobe, Auto and Sound modes.
     • For maximum control, set your WET PAR WC lights to 10-Channel Mode.
7. Use the DMX Controller (or control software) to control lights.
   • Understanding the DMX Fader / Channel Functions:
     • On the controller, activate Scanner / Fixture 1, or the one(s) corresponding to your WET PAR WC Lights.
     • Reference the charts below to control the light(s) using the faders on your controller or controls within your DMX control software.

Pro Tip: You can mix faders 2–7 to create custom colors, then use fader 8 to apply a strobe effect.

8. (If necessary) Wirelessly connect additional lights.
   Up to 25 lights can be wirelessly linked to a single Rockville Wireless DMX Controller or DMX-WTR Wireless DMX Transmitter.
   • Understanding the 25+ light setup:
     • Up to 25 lights can be linked to a single Rockville Wireless DMX Controller or DMX-WTR Wireless DMX Transmitter.
     • A DMX-WTR Wireless DMX Transmitter can be connected to the 3-pin DMX Output port on the back of the Rockville Wireless DMX Controller or any other DMX Output (3-pin).
     • Multiple DMX-WTR Wireless DMX Transmitters can be used in the same lighting system, as long as each transmitter uses a different Wireless Group ID. 
   • Select a Wireless Group ID on the Transmitter for the additional group of lights.
     • Make sure to choose a different one than used previously (Example: Yellow).
     • If using multiple transmitters, be sure to differentiate so you are not accidentally changing the Wireless ID on the wrong unit.
   • Match the Wireless Group ID on each of the additional lights.
     • Use the MENU button to access the Wireless Group ID menu as shown previously.
     • Set all additional lights to this new Wireless Group ID (Example: Yellow).
       
   • MASTER Mode should be turned off for all lights being connected.
     • Press the MENU button until you see MASTER on or MASTER oFF.
       
     • If you see MASTER on, use the Up or Down button select MASTER oFF.
       
   • Set the DMX Address and Channel Mode.
     • Use the same DMX Address (Example: 001) as the previously connected lights if you want all WET PAR WC lights to always follow the same commands.
       
     • Use a different DMX Address (according to DMX controller instructions) if you want the additional WET PAR WC lights to be able to follow different commands.
       
     • Press the MENU button until you see DMX CH. SLAVE.
       
     • Use the Up or Down button to select between 6-Channel Mode and 10-Channel Mode based on the level of control you need.
       Please note: Lights using the same DMX address should also be set to the same DMX Channel Mode.
       • 6-Channel Mode → Allows color mixing (Red, Green, Blue, White, Yellow/Amber, Purple/UV).
       • 10-Channel Mode → Allows color mixing with Master dimmer, plus Strobe, Auto and Sound modes.
       • For maximum control, set your WET PAR WC lights to 10-Channel Mode.

E.) Primary/Secondary Setup
Also referred to as Master/Slave Mode.

• Select the light you want to be the Primary.
  • This light will control all secondary lights in the system.
  • It is recommended to use the light that will be easiest to control; either by accessing the buttons / display, or using the IR remote (pointed at the top of the light). 
• Activate the light's MASTER Mode setting.
  1. Press the MENU button until you see MASTER on or MASTER oFF.
     
  2. If you see MASTER oFF, use the Up or Down button to select MASTER on.
     
• Select a Wireless Group ID.
  1. Press the MENU button until you see 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07 or oFF with the corresponding Wireless Group ID color. 
     
  2. Use the Up / Down buttons to select from 7 available IDs, each with a color code:
     • 01 → Red
       
     • 02 → Green
       
     • 03 → Yellow
       
     • 04 → Blue

     • 05 → Purple
       
     • 06 → Cyan
       
     • 07 → White
       
• Make sure IR Remote response is Active (to use remote control).
  1. Press the MENU button until you see IR on or IR oFF.
     
  2. If you see IR oFF, use the Up or Down button select IR on.
     
     • This allows you to control all lights using a remote pointed at the Primary light (IR sensor on top near display)
• Configure all Secondary Lights. 
  • Deactivate the light's MASTER Mode setting:
    1. Press the MENU button until you see MASTER on or MASTER oFF.
       
    2. If you see MASTER on, use the Up or Down button select MASTER oFF.
       
  • Select matching Wireless Group ID.
    1. Press the MENU button until you see 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07 or oFF with the corresponding Wireless Group ID color. 
       
    2. Use the Up / Down buttons to select from 7 available IDs, each with a color code:
       • 01 → Red
         
       • 02 → Green
         
       • 03 → Yellow
         
       • 04 → Blue

       • 05 → Purple
         
       • 06 → Cyan
         
       • 07 → White
         
  • Make sure IR Remote response is not Active (to use remote control).
    This avoids interference or desynchronization if you accidentally point the remote at a Secondary Light.
    1. Press the MENU button until you see IR on or IR oFF.
       
    2. If you see IR on, use the Up or Down button select IR oFF.
       
  • Set to SLAVE Mode (DMX Address: 001).
    1. Press the MENU button until you see DMX ADD 001 ~ DMX ADD 512.
       
    2. If necessary, use the UP / DOWN buttons to set the address to 001.
       
• Once configured... 
  • Set the Primary to any static color, color-changing or sound-active mode. All WET PAR WC lights should respond. 
  • The Primary Light’s Wireless Group ID Icon will stay solid.
  • The Secondary Lights’ Wireless Group ID Icon will flash, indicating they are synced with the Primary Light.
    
• Controlling the Lights now that they are synced...
  • Any changes made on the Primary  Light will be mirrored on all Secondary Lights.
  • You can adjust colors, modes, brightness and effects using the Primary Light’s buttons or the included remote.
• Using the Remote... 
  • The remote offers convenient handheld control with the same functions as the onboard buttons.
  • You can easily change colors, switch auto modes, adjust brightness, and activate effects.
  • Make sure IR response is only active on your Primary light (as shown above) to ensure Secondary lights don't get accidentally thrown out of sync.

F.) Controlling Lights via Smartphone or Tablet
The Rockville Par-Control app can be downloaded on most smartphones and tablets to control the WET PAR WC.

• Setting App Control Group:
  This allows you to control up to four groups of lights using the app.
  1. Press the MENU button until you see AP1, AP2, AP3 or AP4.
     
  2. Use the Up / Down buttons to select one of four App Groups.
     
  3. Press ENTER to see the 3-Digit UID (Unique Identification Number).
      
     ⚠️The UID on your light will likely be different.
  4. On a smartphone or tablet you should be able to find and connect to a WiFi network labeled Rockville-UID. This enables control using the Rockville Par-Control App.
     • For the example above, the WiFi network would appear on your smartphone or tablet as shown below.
        
     • Connecting to this network enables control using the Rockville Par-Control App.
     • If app control is disrupted, it is recommended to first check this WiFi connection.
  5. Press ENTER on the light again to stay in app mode.
  6. Open the Rockville Par-Control App.
  7. Note the four buttons toward the bottom of the screen labeled; 1, 2, 3 and 4.
     
  8. These correspond to the WER PAR WC's four App Groups; AP1, AP2, AP3 and AP4.
  9. Select the App Group that corresponds to the WET PAR WC light(s) you wish to control.
     
• Controlling Lights Using The Par-Control App: 
  1. Color Tab
     
       
     • Standard Color Buttons: Quickly change light to predefined colors.
       
        
     • Color Wheel: Select custom colors.
       
        
     • Brightness Slider: Adjust brightness level.
       
        
     • Custom Color Buttons: Save up to 6 customized colors for easy recall.
        
       • Press and hold a preset to delete and replace it.
          
  2. Mode Tab:
     
      
     • Choose from preset effects:
       
         
     • Adjust effect speed and brightness with sliders.
       
        
  3. Sound Tab:
     
      
     • Four different sound-activated modes.
       
         
     • Adjust sound sensitivity and brightness of LEDs.
       Lights will react to ambient noise or music.
       
  4. Settings Tab:
     • Language: Select from available languages for app viewing.
     • Clear Cache: Erases all saved app settings (e.g. custom colors).
     • Check Update: Checks to ensure you have the most current version of the Par-Control App.

     • About: Displays app version, Rockville support information and Licenses.

       

        

• Linking Multiple Lights:
  ⚠️Be sure to check Network Settings periodically, as Rockville-UID WiFi may need to be reconnected.
  1. Set all lights to the same Wireless DMX Code.
     • Press the MENU button until you see 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07 or oFF with the corresponding Wireless Group ID color. 
       
     • Use the Up or Down button to set all lights to the same Wireless Group ID # / color.
       
  2. On the first (primary/master) light only, set MASTER Mode to on.
     • Press the MENU  button until you see MASTER on or MASTER oFF.
       
     • If you see MASTER oFF, use the Up or Down button to select MASTER on.
       
  3. On all additional (secondary/slave) lights, set MASTER Mode to oFF.
     • Press the MENU button until you see MASTER on or MASTER oFF.
       
     • If you see MASTER on, use the Up or Down button select MASTER oFF.
       
  4. Assign each light to the same APP Group.
     • Press the MENU  button until you see AP1, AP2, AP3 or AP4.
       
     • Use the Up / Down buttons to select one of four App Groups.
       
  5. Set only additional (secondary) lights to DMX Address or SLAVE Mode.
     • Press the MENU button until you see DMX ADD. 001 ~ DMX ADD. 512.
       
     • If necessary, use the UP / DOWN buttons to set the address to 001.
       
  6. On your smartphone of tablet (must still be connected to Rockville-UID WiFi network), open the Rockville Par-Control App.
     • Select the App Group that corresponds to the light(s) you wish to control.
       
        
• Using Different App Groups:
  ⚠️Be sure to check Network Settings periodically, as Rockville-UID WiFi may need to be reconnected.
  1. Set all lights within the group to the same Wireless DMX Code.
     • Press the MENU button until you see 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07 or oFF with the corresponding Wireless Group ID color. 
       
     • Use the Up or Down button to set all lights to the same Wireless Group ID # / color.
       
  2. On the first (main/master) light only, set MASTER Mode to on.
     • Press the MENU button until you see MASTER on or MASTER oFF.
       
     • If you see MASTER oFF, use the Up or Down button to select MASTER on.
       
  3. On all additional (secondary) lights, set MASTER Mode to oFF.
     • Press the MENU button until you see MASTER on or MASTER oFF.
       
     • If you see MASTER on, use the Up or Down button select MASTER oFF.
       
  4. Assign each light to the same APP Group.
     • Press the MENU button until you see AP1, AP2, AP3 or AP4.
       
     • Use the Up / Down buttons to select one of four App Groups.
       
  5. Set only additional (secondary) lights to DMX Address or SLAVE Mode.
     • Press the MENU button until you see DMX ADD. 001 ~ DMX ADD. 512.
       
     • If necessary, use the UP / DOWN buttons to set the address to 001.
       
  6. On your smartphone of tablet (must still be connected to Rockville-UID WiFi network), open the Rockville Par-Control App.
     • Select the App Group that corresponds to the light(s) you wish to control.
       
        

     • Multiple groups can be selected and controlled together.

        

Troubleshooting & FAQs

Lights Are Not Charging:
✅Make sure the power switch on the charging case is turned on.
✅Confirm the power cable is fully inserted.
✅Check for red charging indicators.

Light does not turn on:
✅Check the battery life indicator; charge if red or orange.
✅Ensure the power button is able to be pressed in fully (not jammed / debree wedged).

My Secondary lights are not responding.
✅Check that all lights are set to the same Wireless Group ID.
✅Ensure Master Mode is ON for only the Master light.
✅Confirm Slave Mode is ON for all other lights.
✅Turn OFF IR Mode on all Slave Lights to avoid interference / desynchronization when using remote.

How many Secondary lights can I control with one Primary?
✅Up to 25 Secondary lights can be wirelessly linked to a single Primary.

Remote not controlling the light: 
✅Confirm the light is showing IR on indicating IR Remote response is active.
✅Be sure to to point the remote toward the side of the light where the display (and IR sensor) is located.
✅Check the remote’s battery and replace it if needed.

My lights are not responding to wireless DMX controller commands.
✅Ensure the lights and controller are set to the same Wireless ID / DMX color group.
✅Confirm light(s) set to the correct DMX Address and Channel Mode.
✅Check that the correct DMX scanner / fixture (e.g., Scanner 1) is enabled on the controller.

How many lights can I connect with a DMX Controller?
✅25 lights can be wirelessly linked directly to a Rockville Wireless DMX Controller or Transmitter.
✅25 more lights can be linked to another Transmitter connected to the same DMX output.

Sound mode not responding:
✅Increase sensitivity setting; 
  –  Press the Enter button once in sound mode, then use the Up button to set to 9.
✅Ensure ambient sound is loud enough or test with louder audio.

App Will Not Connect:
✅Make sure the light is in App Mode.
✅Confirm your phone is connected to the light’s WiFi code.
✅Recheck WiFi connection if it disconnects.
