Introduction

The Rockville USS10 is a compact underseat powered subwoofer designed to deliver deep bass without taking up much space in your vehicle. This guide will walk you through its wiring connections, inputs, and controls to ensure proper setup and optimal performance.

Step 1: Powering the Subwoofer

The USS10 has three main power connections:

• 12V Power Terminal: Connect this to the positive terminal of your vehicle’s battery.
• Remote Terminal: Connect this to either:
  • The ignition/accessory wire of your vehicle.
  • The remote output of your head unit.
• Ground Terminal: Connect this to a metal chassis point in your vehicle.

Power Indicator:

• The Power LED next to the terminals confirms proper power connection.
• If there’s an issue, the Protect LED will turn on.

Step 2: Subwoofer Control Settings

1. Auto On Switch

• ON: The subwoofer powers on automatically when the head unit turns on.
• OFF: Requires manual power activation via REM terminal.

2. Phase Switch

• Toggles the subwoofer’s phase to 180°.
• Ensures proper bass alignment with the rest of your audio setup.
• Try activating/deactivating it and choose what sounds best.

3. Low-Pass Filter

• Sets the highest frequency the subwoofer will play.
• Example: 100Hz means the subwoofer plays only 100Hz and below.

4. Subsonic High-Pass Filter

• Blocks ultra-low frequencies that may cause distortion.
• Example: 30Hz means the subwoofer plays everything above 30Hz.

5. Gain Knob

• Adjusts the subwoofer’s volume level within your setup.
• Gain Setting Tip:
  1. Raise the head unit’s volume close to distortion.
  2. Slowly increase the gain knob on the subwoofer just before distortion.
  3. This ensures optimal volume balance.

6. Bass Boost Knob

• Adds up to 12dB of bass enhancement for extra low-end punch.

Step 3: Connecting the Audio Source

RCA Line Input

• Connects to any head unit with RCA outputs.

High-Level Input (for Head Units Without RCA Outputs)

• Use the included high-level input harness:
  1. Plug one end into the subwoofer’s high-level input.
  2. Connect the other end to your head unit’s speaker output wires.

Step 4: Using the Bass Remote Knob

• Connect the included bass remote knob to the Bass Remote Input.
• Install the knob within reach of the driver for easy volume control.
• Allows adjustments without accessing the gain knob on the subwoofer.

1. Confirm all connections are secure.
2. Slide the subwoofer under your seat (driver’s or passenger’s side).
