BEST PAR 50: How To Set Up Groups

Introduction

If you want to group multiple Best PAR 50 lights into different color or mode settings without using Wireless DMX or Master/Slave mode, you can manually configure each group of lights. This method allows you to assign different colors or modes to different sets of lights. You can create multiple sections of lights without a DMX controller, simply by storing settings so the lights retain their last mode when powered back on. 

This guide will walk you through how to manually group your lights into different colors or modes in advanced to be prepared for a particular event or venue.

Setup Guide

A.) Plan Your Light Groups
Decide how you want to divide your lights.

For example:

• Group 1 → Red lights
• Group 2 → Blue lights
• Group 3 → Sound mode (reacts to music)

B.) Setting Up Group 1 ~ e.g. Red Lights

1. Turn on the first set of lights.
2. On each light, press the MODE button until you see Co01 ~ Co31.
3. If you see on Co01 the screen already, you can skip Steps 4 and 5.
4. Press ENTER and then UP / DOWN buttons to modify the setting until you see Co01.
5. Press ENTER to save the setting.
6. Leave the lights on or turn them off.

C.) Setting Up Group 2 ~ e.g. Blue Lights

1. Turn on the second set of lights.
2. On each light, press the MODE button until you see Co01 ~ Co31.
3. If you see on Co03 the screen already, you can skip Steps 4 and 5.
4. Press ENTER and then UP / DOWN buttons to modify the setting until you see Co03.
5. Press ENTER to save the setting.
6. Leave the lights on or turn them off.

D.) Setting Up Group 3 ~ e.g. Sound Mode

1. Turn on the third set of lights.
2. On each light, press the MODE button until you see bEbE.
3. Press ENTER to save the setting.
4. Leave the lights on or turn them off.

E.) Verifying Groups

1. Turn all Best PAR 50 lights on (if not already).
2. Confirm the lights retained their last saved settings.
   • Group 1 → Lights should be Red.
   • Group 2 → Lights should be Blue.
   • Group 3 → Lights should respond to sound / music.
3. Adjust placement and angles as needed.

F.) Repeat Process With Additional Lights
You can repeat this process with more lights and different colors / modes as needed!
