TITAN 12: How To Set Up & Use

Introduction

The Rockville Titan 12 is a 12-inch powered PA speaker designed for live performances, DJ events, conferences, karaoke, and more. With built-in Bluetooth, multiple input options, and TWS (True Wireless Stereo) connectivity, it provides versatile sound solutions for any event.

Step 1: Powering On the Titan 12

1. Connect the power cable to the AC IN port using the included PowerCon connector.
2. Flip the power switch ON.
3. Check the LED indicators:
   • Power Light: Confirms the speaker is on.
   • Signal Light: Lights up when an audio signal is detected.
   • Clip Light: Warns if the audio is too loud or distorted.

Step 2: Connecting a Microphone

The Titan 12 has two combo inputs that accept XLR or 1/4-inch (TRS) connections.

1. Use an XLR cable:
   • Female end → Microphone
   • Male end → Channel 1 input on the Titan 12.
2. Set the input switch to ‘Mic’ mode.
3. Raise the Channel 1 level knob to increase microphone volume.
4. Turn on the microphone and test the sound.

Step 3: Connecting a Line-Level Audio Source

For keyboards, MP3 players, or DJ controllers, use the line inputs.

1. Plug your audio source into Channel 2 using:
   • XLR to XLR
   • 1/4-inch (TRS) to 1/4-inch
2. Set the input switch to ‘Line’ mode.
3. Raise the Channel 2 level knob.

Step 4: Adjusting EQ Settings

The Titan 12 has four EQ modes:

• Normal: Flat frequency response for general use.
• Indoor: Boosts low-mid and high-mid frequencies.
• Outdoor: Boosts high frequencies for open areas.
• Speech: High-pass filter with mid-frequency boost (ideal for speaking events).

Select the mode that best fits your event.

Step 5: Connecting via Bluetooth

1. Hold the Bluetooth Pairing button for 3 seconds until you hear a sound.
2. Press the Pairing button again to enter pairing mode.
3. On your smartphone or tablet, go to Bluetooth settings and select Titan 12.
4. The Pairing Light will turn solid when connected.
5. Raise the Bluetooth level knob to hear the audio.

Step 6: Connecting Multiple Speakers

Option 1: Using the Through/Mix Output

You can connect another speaker, subwoofer, or mixer using the XLR through/mix output.

1. Use an XLR cable:
   • Female end → Titan 12 Mix Output
   • Male end → Another Titan 12 or subwoofer input
2. Press the Mix/Through button:
   • Mix Mode: Sends the entire audio signal.
   • Through Mode: Sends only Channel 2 signal.

Option 2: Pairing Two Titan 12s via TWS (True Wireless Stereo)

1. Turn off both speakers.
2. Turn them on at the same time.
3. Hold the Pairing button on both speakers for 3 seconds.
4. Press the TWS Link button on both speakers.
5. The TWS Light will stay lit when successfully linked.
6. Reconnect your Bluetooth device to the master speaker.
7. Play music wirelessly on both speakers.

Note: TWS mode only works with Bluetooth audio sources, not microphones or line inputs.

Step 7: Expanding the System with a Mixer

For larger setups, connect a passive mixer to two Titan 12 speakers.

Connections

1. Use (2) XLR cables:
   • Female ends → Mixer’s Left & Right XLR Outputs.
   • Male ends → Titan 12 Channel 1 Inputs.
2. Set input switches to ‘Line’ mode.
3. Raise the Channel 1 level knobs on both speakers.
4. Raise the mixer’s main outputs.
5. Adjust channel volume levels for balance
