Introduction
The Blue Amp 21 is a 2.1 channel Bluetooth home audio amplifier receiver that allows you to power passive speakers and a subwoofer while streaming audio from various sources. Available in black and silver, both models have the same setup process. This guide will walk you through powering the amp, connecting speakers and a subwoofer, and setting up different audio sources.
What’s Included
- Blue Amp 21 (Black or Silver)
- 3.5mm AUX to RCA cable
- Dual RCA cable
- Bluetooth antenna (for improved wireless connectivity)
- Power adapter and cable
Step-by-Step Setup
1. Connecting the Power Adapter
- Take the female end of the power cable and plug it into the power adapter.
- Plug the other end of the adapter into the amp’s power input.
- Connect the male end of the power cable to a wall outlet.
2. Attaching the Bluetooth Antenna
- Screw the Bluetooth antenna onto the back of the amp.
- This enhances wireless connectivity when using Bluetooth mode.
3. Connecting Passive Speakers
This amplifier is 4-ohm stable per channel, so make sure your speakers meet the required impedance:
- One speaker per channel: Use 4-ohm or 8-ohm speakers.
- Two speakers per channel: Each speaker should be at least 8 ohms (parallel wiring results in 4 ohms total).
Connecting One Speaker Per Channel
- Take a speaker wire and connect the red wire to the red positive terminal on the amp.
- Connect the black wire to the black negative terminal on the amp.
- Attach the other ends to the corresponding positive and negative terminals on the speaker.
- Repeat for the second speaker on the other channel.
Connecting Two Speakers Per Channel (Parallel Wiring)
- Connect the first speaker to the amp as described above.
- Take another speaker wire and connect the positive and negative terminals of the first speaker to the positive and negative terminals of the second speaker.
- Ensure that each speaker is at least 8 ohms to maintain a 4-ohm total load per channel.
Important: Do NOT connect two 4-ohm speakers per channel, as this would drop the impedance below 4 ohms and risk damaging the amp.
4. Turning On the Amplifier
- Press and hold the power button on the amp to turn it on.
- The front panel has three control knobs:
- Sub knob – Adjusts the subwoofer volume.
- Treble knob – Controls high frequencies.
- Main volume knob – Adjusts overall speaker output.
5. Connecting a Subwoofer
The sub output allows you to add a passive subwoofer for deeper bass.
- Take a speaker wire and connect one end to the sub output on the back of the amp.
- Connect the other end to the positive and negative terminals of your subwoofer.
- Adjust the sub knob on the amp to control the subwoofer level.
6. Connecting Audio Sources
AUX Input (3.5mm to RCA) – Connects MP3 Players
- Use the AUX 1 input on the back of the amp.
- Plug one end of the 3.5mm AUX to RCA cable into the MP3 player.
- Connect the RCA ends to the AUX 1 input on the amp.
RCA Input (AUX 2) – Connects TVs, CD/DVD Players, or Record Players
- Use the AUX 2 RCA input on the back of the amp.
- Plug one end of the RCA cable into the AUX 2 input on the amp.
- Connect the other end into the RCA output of your device (TV, CD/DVD player, etc.).
