Step 1: Understanding 70V Audio Systems

A 70V amplifier allows you to connect multiple speakers at a fixed wattage. You can run many speakers off a single amplifier by matching the wattage draw of the speakers to the amp's output power.

For example:

• If your amplifier has 100W, you can set each speaker to 10W and run 10 speakers.
• If you’re using a multi-zone amplifier, you can assign different speakers to separate zones, each with independent volume control.

Step 2: Finding the Right Mounting Location

Because the WET ARRAY 4 is a heavier speaker, it’s important to mount it on a stud in the wall.

How to Find a Stud in the Wall

1. Use a stud finder and move it in a figure-eight motion on the wall.
2. When the stud finder detects a stud, mark the location.
3. Typically, studs are 16 inches apart, so you can mount multiple speakers along this alignment.

Step 3: Installing the Mounting Bracket

3.1 Attaching the Bracket to the Speaker

1. Remove the screws from the back of the speaker using a screwdriver.
2. Lay the speaker flat for easier installation.
3. Line up the bracket’s open side with the back of the speaker.
4. Insert the screws into the bracket holes and partially tighten them.
5. Adjust the bracket’s positioning, then fully tighten the screws.

3.2 Mounting the Speaker to the Wall

1. Position the mounting bracket on the wall at the marked stud location.
2. Use a pencil to mark the screw hole locations.
3. Use a ruler or level to ensure the bracket is straight.
4. If mounting to drywall/stud, use the included standard screws and washers.
5. If mounting to brick or concrete, use the concrete screws.

Step 4: Adjusting the Speaker Angle

1. Use the included Allen key to loosen the bolts on the top and bottom of the bracket.
2. Swivel the speaker left or right to direct the sound.
3. Once positioned correctly, tighten the bolts to secure the angle.
4. For further adjustments, use a wrench or pliers to loosen the side nuts to tilt the speaker up or down.

Step 5: Connecting the Speaker to a 70V Amplifier

5.1 Wiring the Speaker

1. The included speaker wires are not long enough to reach the amplifier, so you’ll need additional speaker wire.
2. Take one end of the extra speaker wire and connect:
   • Red (positive) wire → White wire on speaker
   • Black (negative) wire → Black wire on speaker
3. If desired, you can run the wires through the wall for a cleaner installation.

5.2 Connecting to the Amplifier

1. Take the other end of the speaker wire and plug it into:
   • Positive (red) terminal → Zone 1 positive terminal on the amplifier.
   • Negative (black) terminal → Zone 1 negative terminal.
2. If using a direct output, connect the speaker wire to the 70V and common (COM) terminals on the amplifier.

5.3 Setting the Speaker Wattage (Tapping)

The WET ARRAY 4 has multiple tap settings to control how much power it pulls from the amplifier.

Example wattage settings:

• 10W tap → Allows 10 speakers on a 100W amp
• 20W tap → Allows 5 speakers on a 100W amp
• 40W tap → Uses maximum power for fewer speakers with louder output

Use a flathead screwdriver to set the tap switch on the back of the speaker.

5.4 Parallel Wiring (Daisy-Chaining Multiple Speakers)

To connect multiple speakers in parallel:

1. Run a second speaker wire from the first speaker’s positive and negative terminals.
2. Connect the other end to the positive and negative terminals of the next speaker.
3. Repeat the process for additional speakers.

Step 6: Testing the Setup

1. Power on the 70V amplifier.
2. Play music or audio through the system.
3. Adjust the speaker angle if necessary.
