Introduction:
This guide will walk you through the simple step-by-step process of assembling your RRU series rack. Whether you purchased a small or large rack, the instructions apply to all sizes. No technical experience is needed — just follow along and you’ll have your rack set up in no time.
What You’ll Need (Included in the Box):
- 4 rail pieces
- 4 wheels (2 with brakes)
- 1 front/rear stabilizer bar
- 1 top platform
- 1 bottom platform
- 2 side panels
- Screws, washers, and 4 cage nuts
Tools Required:
- Screwdriver or drill
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Attach the Wheels
- Take the bottom platform and locate the screw holes at each corner.
- Place each wheel over the holes and loosely secure it using two screws at a time. Do not fully tighten until all screws are aligned.
- Tip: Make sure the wheels with brakes are placed diagonally from each other for stability.
2. Install the Vertical Rails
- Flip the platform over and lock the brake wheels to keep it stable.
- Identify the square holes side and threaded circular holes side of each rail.
- Square holes require cage nuts.
- Circular threaded holes can be used without cage nuts.
- Choose which side will face front.
- Line up the holes at the bottom of the rails with the platform.
- Insert screws with washers, but don’t fully tighten yet (leave room for adjustment).
- Repeat for all four rails.
3. Attach the Side Panels
- Position one side panel at a time against the rails.
- If screws were left loose, adjust the rails to fit the side panels.
- Secure the bottom of the panel using screws and washers.
- Repeat for the other side panel.
4. Install the Top Platform
- Position the top platform over the rack, aligning the corners carefully.
- Make sure the pre-drilled hole on the top aligns with the hole on the bottom platform.
- Insert screws and washers loosely first, then tighten them after confirming alignment.
- Secure all sides (front, back, left, and right) with the appropriate number of screws.
5. Tighten All Screws
- Go back and fully tighten all screws that were left loose during earlier steps.
- Use a screwdriver or drill to ensure everything is secure.
6. Mount Your Gear
- Use the included cage nuts to install your rack-mounted gear:
- Place cage nuts in the square holes of the rails where needed.
- Line up your gear and use screws to attach it.
- Alternatively, use the threaded side of the rail to install gear without cage nuts.
7. Optional: Attach the Stabilizer Bar
- Decide whether to place it at the front or back of the rack.
- Line up the holes, then use screws and washers to secure the bar in place.
Troubleshooting & FAQs
Q: The wheels don’t align with the screw holes. What should I do?
A: Loosely install the first two screws, then shift the wheel slightly to align the remaining holes before tightening.
Q: My side panels aren’t fitting correctly.
A: Make sure the rail screws are not fully tightened. Loosen them slightly to adjust the rails for easier alignment.
Q: Do I have to use cage nuts?
A: No. If you prefer not to use cage nuts, install your gear on the threaded side of the rail.
Conclusion:
That’s it — your RRU series rack is now fully assembled and ready to use. You can easily add or rearrange gear using the rails and included cage nuts.
