Step 1: Overview of the WiiM Mini Controls and Connections

Front Panel Controls (Capacitive Buttons)

  • Volume - (Lower volume)
  • Volume + (Raise volume)
  • Play/Pause button (Control playback)
  • Preset buttons (for quick access to saved playlists, radio stations, or podcasts)

Back Panel Inputs and Outputs

  • AUX Input (3.5mm port) – Connects external audio sources (computers, turntables, DVD players, gaming consoles).
  • AUX Output (3.5mm port) – Sends audio from the WiiM Mini to speakers, home theater systems, or soundbars.
  • USB-C Power Port – Powers the WiiM Mini.
  • Optical (SPDIF) Output – Sends high-quality digital audio to soundbars, DACs, or home theater systems.

Tip: The optical output supports hi-res 24-bit audio playback.

Step 2: Powering On the WiiM Mini

  1. Plug the USB-C cable into the USB-C power port on the back.
  2. Connect the USB-A end to the charging block.
  3. Plug the charging block into a wall outlet.
  4. The WiiM Mini will power on (LED indicators may blink).

Connecting to Wi-Fi

  1. Open the WiiM Home app.
  2. Tap Add Device (your WiiM Mini should automatically appear).
  3. Select Set Up.
  4. Choose your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.
  5. Tap Next to establish the connection.

Tip: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone for faster pairing.

Step 4: Connecting the WiiM Mini to Your Audio System

Option 1: AUX Connection (Analog Audio)

  1. Use the included 3.5mm Aux cable.
  2. Plug one end into the AUX Out on the WiiM Mini.
  3. Plug the other end into your speaker, amplifier, or home theater system.
  4. In the WiiM Home app, set Audio Output to AUX.

Option 2: Optical (SPDIF) Connection (Digital Audio)

  1. Use the included optical cable.
  2. Remove the plastic caps from both ends.
  3. Plug one end into the Optical Out on the WiiM Mini.
  4. Plug the other end into your soundbar or home theater receiver.
  5. In the WiiM Home app, set Audio Output to Optical.

Tip: Optical output allows hi-res 24-bit audio playback.

Step 5: Naming Your WiiM Mini

  1. In the WiiM Home app, choose a name for your device.
  2. Naming it by room (e.g., "Dining Room" or "Bedroom") is recommended.
  3. This helps with multi-room audio control.

Step 6: Playing Music Through the WiiM Mini

Streaming Music Services

The WiiM Home app supports:
Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Music, TIDAL, Pandora, iHeartRadio, SoundCloud, TuneIn, and more.

  1. Open the WiiM Home app.
  2. Tap Browse to select a music service.
  3. Choose a playlist, song, or podcast and press Play.
  4. The WiiM Mini will stream music to your connected speakers or soundbar.

Tip: You can control volume and playback from your phone, capacitive buttons, or WiiM Voice Remote.

Step 7: Using Bluetooth on the WiiM Mini

  1. Hold the Volume + and Volume - buttons for 2 seconds until the LED blinks green.
  2. Open Bluetooth settings on your phone, tablet, or computer.
  3. Select your WiiM Mini (named after the room you set).
  4. Once connected, play any audio from your device, and it will stream wirelessly.

Tip: Wi-Fi streaming offers better range and sound quality than Bluetooth, but Bluetooth is great for quick connections.

Step 8: Using the WiiM Voice Remote

  1. Insert two AAA batteries (not included).
  2. Hold Source + Mute buttons for 3 seconds to pair.
  3. Once paired, use the remote to:
    • Play/Pause music
    • Adjust volume
    • Skip tracks
    • Mute audio
    • Switch between input sources (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, AUX, Optical, etc.)
    • Use the four customizable preset buttons

Tip: You can set custom presets (playlists, podcasts, or radio stations) for quick access.

Step 9: Creating a Multi-Room Audio System

The WiiM Mini supports multi-room audio, allowing you to sync music across multiple rooms.

How to Link Multiple WiiM Devices

  1. Set up additional WiiM Mini or WiiM Pro devices in different rooms.
  2. Open the WiiM Home app.
  3. Tap the "Link" button to group multiple WiiM devices.
  4. Select the rooms you want to play music in.
  5. Play a song, and it will sync across all connected speakers.

Tip: You can control volume for each room separately in the app.

Step 10: Using Presets for Quick Access

Presets allow you to save playlists, radio stations, or podcasts for quick access.

How to Set a Preset

  1. Play a song, playlist, or podcast in the WiiM Home app.
  2. Tap the three-dot menu and select Set as Preset.
  3. Choose a preset button (1-4) on the WiiM Mini or remote.

Tip: Now, pressing the preset button will instantly play your saved content!
