Important Safety Instructions
- To reduce risk of electric shock, never open the unit. There are no user serviceable-parts; refer service to the Rockville service center.
- Do not expose this unit to any kind of moisture.
- Please ensure that the unit is situated in a properly ventilated area.
- Make sure the unit is placed on a level and stable surface.
Functions
- Channel Reverb: Controls the amount of reverb added to the input signals.
- Channel Treble: ±15dB
- Channel Bass: ±15dB
- XLR Mic Input: Connect microphones using balanced XLR audio cable (mic cable).
- Input Impedance of 1K ohms
- PIN 1 = Shield / Ground
- PIN 2 = Positive (+hot)
- PIN 3 = Negative (-cold)
WARNING: When using condenser microphones, make sure that Phantom Power (item 15) is on.
- ¼˝ Unbalanced Line Input: Connect a line output from an active audio device (such as a synth, keyboard, drum machine, cassette player, CD player, TV or computer).
- You may also be able to connect a high impedance passive audio source (such as an electric guitar or bass).
- It is a two-conductor input with an impedance of 10K ohms.
- Channel Volume: This control acts as a preamp level or gain control.
- Master Effects Controller:
- Volume: Controls the level of the effects added back to the master mix.
- Echo: Controls the rate at which the echo decays, or how long the echo continues to repeat before fading out.
- Delay: Controls the amount of time before the echoes (i.e. 200 milliseconds, 300 milliseconds). Increasing this control will simulate the effects of a larger space.
- MP3 Player:
- Play: Press during play to pause; press button again to resume play.
- Stop: Press during play to stop current track.
- Repeat: Press during play to repeat current song. Press again to repeat all songs. Press again to exit repeat mode.
- Next button: Press to go to next track.
- Previous button: Press to go to previous track.
- Play LED: Indicates MP3 player is on.
- Repeat One/All LED: Indicates repeat mode is on.
- LED Power Indicator
- Master Volume: Controls overall volume of the mixer.
- CD/Tape Volume: Controls volume of line input.
- USB Port: Inserting a USB flash drive will set the RPM45 to USB mode and it will automatically begin to play music.
Please Note: The RPM45 will not recognize USB drives formatted in the NTFS format. Drives must be formatted in the FAT or FAT32 formats. - Phantom Power ON/OFF Button (Red LED indicates power on)
- MP3 Volume: Controls USB input volume.
- Power: ON/OFF Switch
- IEC AC Power Socket: 110-120V 50-60Hz AC voltage required.
- User Serviceable T 4A/120V Fuse (4 Amp 120 Volt 5x20mm Fast Blow Fuse)
- ¼˝ Speaker Outputs: TS Jacks supports up to two 8-ohm speakers, or a single 4-ohm speaker.
Warning: Do not operate below rated minimum impedance (i.e. using two 4-ohm speakers). - ¼˝ Effect Return: Unbalanced line input connects the mixer to the output of an external effects device which is receiving an unamplified main mix signal from the LINE OUT jack.
- ¼˝ Line Out: Used to connect a powered subwoofer or to send the line signal to an external device.
- RCA Tape Input: Used to connect line level sources such as DJ controllers, mixers, samplers, CD players, cassette decks, DAT machines, MP3 players, etc.
- RCA Record Out: Sends signal to a recording device, interface or any other device with line input.
Setup
In this setup there is a powered subwoofer connected to the ¼˝ Out jack and two 8-ohm speakers connected to the ¼˝ 8-Ohm Speaker Outputs on the back of the unit.
In this setup there is a powered stage monitor connected to the ¼˝ Out jack and two 8-ohm speakers connected to the ¼˝ 8-Ohm Speaker Outputs on the back of the unit.
Connections
Once your speakers are hooked up, there are a variety of ways to use the RPM45's many inputs and outputs. Diagrams for the outputs are located on the next page.
Please note: Line level consumer devices such as CD players, tape decks, etc. will require an RCA to ¼˝ cable.
Operation
USB/SD Operation
Inserting a USB flash drive or an SD card into the corresponding port/slot will set the RPM45 to USB/SD mode and it will automatically begin to play music.
Please note: The RPM45 will not recognize USB drives formatted in the NTFS format. Drives must be formatted* in the FAT or FAT32 formats. Music file formats accepted are MP3, WAV, and WMA. Files must be properly formatted; simply changing the file extension to one of the specified file formats will not work.
Music Playback
- Play button: Press to play/pause current track.
- Stop button: Press to stop current track.
- Next button: Press to go to next track.
- Previous button: Press to go to previous track.
- MP3 Volume: Use this control to adjust the volume level of MP3 output. Use the Master Volume to adjust the overall level of sound output.
*Formatting: For any issue issues with USB Thumb Drive Playback...
Please follow these formatting instructions to ensure audio/device compatibility:
- Insert your 32GB or less USB Thumb Drive (may not be compatible with larger sizes) into a computer (available USB port needed).
- Right-Click: USB Thumb Drive
- Select: Format Device
- It will ask for Format Type...Select FAT32.
**For USB Thumb Drive Playback...
Make sure all music loaded on is MP3, WMA, WAV, FLAC or APE file format.
To cover audio to MP3, WMA, WAV, FLAC or APE:
- Mac: Look for iTunes MP3 conversion option in dropdown menus.
- PC: Look for iTunes MP3 conversion software available to download or websites that allow you to upload files to be converted.
connecting a USB drive or SD card will override other MP3 input modes.
