RAMSYS12: How To Set Up & Use

Introduction

The Rockville RAMSYS 12 Speaker System is a versatile portable PA system that includes an active speaker, a passive speaker, two wireless microphones, speaker stands, and a remote control. Whether you’re setting up for a karaoke night, live performance, or event, this guide will walk you through the step-by-step setup process.

Step 1: Setting Up the Speaker Stands

1. Unfold the speaker stands
   • Loosen the bottom knob and pull down on the legs until they spread out.
   • Tighten the knob to secure the base.
2. Adjust the stand height
   • Loosen the top knob and pull up to your desired height.
   • Insert the safety pin into the nearest hole to lock it in place.
   • Tighten the knob to fully secure the height.
3. Mount the speakers onto the stands
   • Locate the 35mm pole mount on the bottom of the speaker.
   • Loosen the pole mount knob, align it with the stand, and slide the speaker onto the stand.
   • Tighten the knob to secure the speaker.

 Repeat these steps for the second speaker.

Step 2: Connecting the Speakers

1. Take the included 1/4" speaker cable.
2. Plug one end into the "Speaker Out" jack on the active speaker.
3. Plug the other end into the "Speaker In" jack on the passive speaker.

Step 3: Powering the Speaker System

1. Plug the power cable into the active speaker.
2. Connect the other end to a power outlet.
3. Turn on the speaker using the power switch.

Step 4: Setting Up the Wireless Microphones

1. Unscrew the bottom cap of the microphones to reveal the battery compartment.
2. Insert the included batteries with the positive (+) side facing down.
3. Screw the cap back on.
4. Press the "VHF Power" button on the speaker.
5. Raise the "Mic A" and "Mic B" volume knobs.
6. Turn on your microphone and test it by speaking into it.

 You can store the microphones in the built-in mic holders on the active speaker.

Step 5: Connecting a Wired Microphone

1. Take an XLR or 1/4" microphone cable.
2. Plug one end into the microphone.
3. Plug the other end into the "Mic Input" on the active speaker.
4. Raise the "Mic Volume" knob to adjust the sound.

 This allows you to use a wired mic in addition to the two wireless mics.

Step 6: Using the Echo & Talkover Features

• Echo Knob – Adds an echo effect to your voice.
• Talkover Button – Automatically lowers background music when speaking into the mic.

 Perfect for making announcements during an event!

Step 7: Connecting an Instrument (Guitar or Keyboard)

1. Take a 1/4" instrument cable.
2. Plug one end into your guitar or keyboard.
3. Plug the other end into the "Mic Input" on the speaker.
4. Raise the "Mic Volume" knob and adjust the instrument volume.
5. Play your instrument and listen to it through the speakers!

 You can also use the wireless microphones at the same time for singing while playing an instrument.

Step 8: Playing Music via Bluetooth

1. Press the "Mode" button to switch to Bluetooth mode.
2. Go to your phone/tablet’s Bluetooth settings.
3. Select "RAMSYS 12" from the list of available devices.
4. Once connected, play music from your phone/tablet!
5. Raise the "MP3 Volume" knob to hear the sound.

 Great for playing background music or karaoke tracks!

Step 9: Using the USB/SD Card Inputs

1. Insert a USB flash drive or SD card with music files.
2. Use the playback buttons below the LED display to control the music.
3. Raise the "MP3 Volume" knob to hear your music.

 The speaker has built-in controls for playing, pausing, skipping tracks, and adjusting EQ settings.

Step 10: Expanding Your Setup with Additional Speakers or Subwoofers

1. Take an XLR cable.
2. Plug the female end into the "Line Out" of the active speaker.
3. Plug the male end into the "Line In" of your subwoofer or additional speaker.
4. Adjust the volume and crossover settings on your subwoofer.

 This setup provides deeper bass and a fuller sound for events!

Step 11: Using True Wireless Stereo (TWS) with Additional RAMSYS 12 Speakers

If you have two pairs of RAMSYS 12 speakers, you can connect them wirelessly using True Wireless Stereo (TWS).

1. Turn on both active speakers.
2. Press the "Mode" button to set both speakers to Bluetooth mode.
3. Hold down the "TWS" (Pause/Play) button on one speaker until you hear a pairing sound.
4. Your main speaker will display "Bluetooth BTA" and the second speaker will display "Bluetooth BTB".
5. Pair your smartphone or tablet to the main speaker (BTA).

 Now, your music will play through both speakers simultaneously!

 Wireless microphones can also be used with both speakers in this setup!

Step 12: Connecting a Mixer to Your RAMSYS 12 Speakers

1. Take two XLR cables.
2. Plug the female ends into the "Main XLR Outputs" on your mixer.
3. Plug the male ends into the "XLR Line Inputs" on your active speakers.
4. Turn on the mixer and speakers.
5. Adjust the mixer settings to control multiple microphones or instruments.

 Great for live performances, band rehearsals, or DJ setups!
