BATTERY PAR 50: How To Set Up & Use

Introduction

The Battery Par 50 Rechargeable RGB Par Light is perfect for wall washing, live performances, video shoots, dance clubs, parties, DJ setups, and more. Available in black or white, the setup process remains the same for both colors.

This guide will cover:

Setup Guide

A.) Attaching the Dual Bracket

This bracket is essential for wall washing, floor positioning, or truss mounting.

1. Align the dual bracket with the screw holes on each side of the light.
2. Insert the screw knobs through the holes in the bracket.
3. Attach washers to the other side of the knobs.
4. Tighten the knobs to secure the bracket in place.

B.) Placement & Mounting Options

Wall Washing Setup:

There are two ways to position your Battery Par 50 for wall washing:

1. Using the Rubber Feet – Place the light flush against the wall to shine directly upward.
2. Using the Dual Bracket – Angle the light slightly a few inches away from the wall to achieve the desired lighting effect.

Once positioned, you can use any of the built-in light modes to enhance your space.

Truss Mounting Setup:

To mount your Battery Par 50 onto a truss or speaker stand pole:

1. Use a lighting clamp such as the Rockville LC70: Heavy Duty C-Clamp.
2. Unscrew and detach the wingnut from the outside of the clamp.
3. Unscrew and remove the hex-bolt from the inside (using a wrench if necessary).
4. Run the bolt through the Dual Bracket holes.
5. Secure the bolt and wingnut back into the clamp.
6. Loosen the clamp's hand-tightening screw to allow it to fit around the truss or speaker pole.
7. Attach the clamp to the truss or speaker pole, and tighten the screw to lock it in place.

Since the light runs on a rechargeable battery, no additional power cables are required for truss mounting.

Using the Light for Totem Stands or DJ Facades

• For totem stands: Lift the scrim and place the Battery Par 50 at the center of the totem.
• For DJ facades: Align the light flush against the inside of the facade.
• Multiple lights can be used for larger illumination effects.

C.) Charging & Battery Operation

• The built-in rechargeable battery lasts: 
  • 8-10 hours on a single color
  • 3-5 hours with all colors
• The LED indicator shows remaining battery life.
• When recharging:
  1. Plug the included power cable into the light.
  2. Connect the other end into a wall outlet.

D.) Modes & Control Options

You can control lighting modes using the buttons on the light, or the included IR remote.

Manual Mode Selection:

1. Press the MODE button to cycle through modes.
2. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to adjust brightness, speed or other parameter.
3. Press ENTER to save changes.

IR Remote Controls:

The remote allows for quick selection of modes as show below:

1	Brightness ⇧ / ⇩	~Used to increase or decrease brightness for static colors. ~Used to control effect speed for FLASH, STROBE and FADE modes.
2	Base Colors	4 Buttons; Select Red, Green, Blue or White.
3	12 Popular Color Selections	Red-Orange, Yellow-Green, Turquoise, Orange, Teal, Deep Blue, Amber, Alt-Green, Purple, Yellow, Deep Green, Pink
4	OFF	Turns LEDs off completely. (Blackout) Please note: This does not power down the light.
	ON	Turns LEDS back on after Blackout, and returns them to previous function. The POWER switch on the back of the light must be used to fully power on / off the light.
5	FLASH	Cycles automatically between colors. Brightness ⇧ / ⇩ controls speed.
6	STROBE	Strobe Effect → Brightness ⇧ / ⇩ controls speed.
7	FADE	Fades smoothly between colors. Brightness ⇧ / ⇩ controls speed.
8	SOUND	Reacts to sound and music.

E.) DMX Control Setup

The Battery Par 50 supports DMX mode for advanced lighting control.

Connecting to a DMX Controller:

1. Use a DMX cable to connect:
   • Male end into the controller's DMX Out port.
   • Female end into the DMX In port on the Battery Par 50.
2. Set the light to a DMX mode:
   • d.001 - d.512 → 6-channel DMX mode (shown in table above) → for more control and functions.
   • A.001 - A.512 → 3-channel DMX mode (shown in table above) → for simple Red, Green, Blue control.
3. Set the DMX address to D001.
4. On the DMX controller, activate Scanner 1.

Controlling Multiple Lights with DMX:

To control multiple Battery Par 50 lights, daisy chain them with DMX cables:

1. Connect a DMX cable from the DMX Out of the first light(connected directly to the controller), or previously connected light.
2. Connect the other end to the DMX In of another light.
3. Repeat the steps above for additional lights.
4. Set all Battery Par 50 lights to DMX address; D001.

Now, all lights will sync to one controller.
