Introduction
In this guide, we'll walk you through how to set up the Master-Slave function on your Rock Beam DC lights. This feature allows you to control multiple lights at once without needing a DMX controller. The first light acts as the master, and the rest of the lights follow its movements.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Choose the Master Light
- The first step is to choose which light you want to serve as the master light. This light will control the rest of the lights in the chain.
Step 2: Set the Slave Lights to Slave Mode
- For all other lights that will follow the master, set them to Slave Mode.
- To do this, access the DMX address menu on each light and set them to the same DMX address (e.g., A001).
Step 3: Connect the Lights
- Take the included DMX cable and connect the DMX Out from the master light to the DMX In of the slave light.
- If you want to connect more lights, use another DMX cable to connect the DMX Out of the slave light to the DMX In of the next light, and continue chaining the lights in the same manner.
Step 4: Set the Master Light to Auto Mode
- On the master light, set it to Auto Mode from the menu.
- Once set to Auto Mode, you'll see that all the lights in the chain follow the same movement and behavior as the master light.
How It Works
- When you adjust the settings on the master light (such as color, movement, or mode), all the slave lights will mimic those same adjustments. This allows for synchronized light shows without needing to configure each light individually.
Conclusion
The Master-Slave function is a simple and effective way to control multiple Rock Beam DC lights without using a DMX controller. With just a few steps, you can create a seamless light show for your event or performance.
