A.) Powering the Light
- Press the Power Button – This turns the light on and off.
- Check the Display – Once powered on, the display will show:
- Current Mode
- Battery Life Indicator
- Wireless Group ID
- IR Remote Status
B.) Battery Life Indicator
- Full Green Bar → Plenty of battery life.
- Middle Bar → About 50% battery remaining.
- Last Bar Only → Low battery – plug in the charger.
C.) Navigating the Menu
The Mini IR4 features multiple modes controlled via four buttons below the display:
- Mode Button → Cycle through available modes.
- Up Button → Adjust values within each mode.
- Down Button → Adjust values within each mode.
- Enter Button → Access submenus to adjust specific settings.
D.) Operating Modes & Controls
- Custom Color Mode
This mode allows for manually blending of the 7 base colors to create custom colors.- Press the Mode button until you see CoL.
- Press Enter to adjust each LED color individually:
- r → Red
- G → Green
- b → Blue
- u → White
- y → Yellow / Amber
- P → Purple / UV (Ultraviolet)
- Use the Up / Down buttons to set values from 0-99 to control the intensity of each color.
- Press the Mode button until you see CoL.
- Global Brightness Control
This sets the maximum brightness for all modes and functions.- Press the Mode button until you see br1 ~ br4.
- Use the Up / Down buttons to select:
- br1 → Minimum Brightness (maximum battery life)
- br2 → Medium-Low Brightness
- br3 → Medium-High Brightness
- br4 → Maximum Brightness (default)
- Press the Mode button until you see br1 ~ br4.
- Display Control
This controls how long the display remains active.- Press the Mode button until you see dSP.
- Use the Up / Down buttons to select:
- on → Displays remains always On.
- 10 → Display shuts off after 10 seconds (comes back on when any button is pressed).
- 20 → Display shuts off after 20 seconds (comes back on when any button is pressed).
- 30 → Display shuts off after 30 seconds (comes back on when any button is pressed).
- Press the Mode button until you see dSP.
- Wireless Group ID
This allows you to select one of 7 Wireless Group ID options for Master/Slave Mode or wireless DMX control.- Press the Mode button until you see 01 ~ 07 along with the Wireless Group ID color.
- Use the Up / Down buttons to select:
- 01 → Red
- 02 → Green
- 03 → Yellow
- 04 → Blue
- 05 → Purple
- 06 → Cyan
- 07 → White
- Press the Mode button until you see 01 ~ 07 along with the Wireless Group ID color.
- IR Control
This allows you to turn On or Off the light's response to the IR remote.- Press the Mode button until you see IR on ~ IR oFF.
- If necessary, use the Up or Down button to select:
- on → For Master light (in Master/Slave mode) or individually controlled lights.
- oFF → Helpful for Slave lights (in Master/Slave mode) to prevent accidental adjustments.
- Press the Mode button until you see IR on ~ IR oFF.
- Master Mode
This allows you to set your light Master (controls Slave lights).- Press the Mode button until you see MASTER on or MASTER oFF.
- If necessary, use the Up or Down button to select:
- on → Light acts as the Master in a Master/Slave mode.
- oFF → Light functions as a Slave in Master/Slave mode or with wireless DMX control.
- Press the Mode button until you see MASTER on or MASTER oFF.
- DMX Address
This allows you to set the light to DMX control or Slave mode for wireless syncing.- Press the Mode button until you see DMX ADD 001 ~ DMX ADD 512.
- Use the Up / Down buttons to set the address to A001 for Scanner / Fixture 1, or to a different address corresponding to another scanner / fixture (specified by your DMX controller).
- Press the Mode button until you see DMX ADD 001 ~ DMX ADD 512.
- DMX Channel Mode
This allows you to select between 6-Channel Mode and 10-Channel Mode based on the level of control needed.- Press the Mode button until you see DMX CH. 06 or DMX CH. 10.
- If necessary, use the Up or Down button to select:
- 6-Channel Mode → Allows color mixing (Red, Green, Blue, White, Yellow/Amber, Purple/UV).
- 10-Channel Mode → Allows color mixing with Master dimmer, plus Strobe, Auto and Sound modes.
- Press the Mode button until you see DMX CH. 06 or DMX CH. 10.
- Static Color Mode
This allows you to select from 48 pre-set colors.- Press the Mode button until you see COLOR SUB 01 ~ COLOR SUB 48.
- Use the Up / Down buttons to scroll through the 48 pre-set color options.
- Press the Enter button to activate (optional) Strobe Effect.
- Use the Up / Down buttons to set Strobe Speed.
- Use the Up / Down buttons to set Strobe Speed.
- Press the Mode button until you see COLOR SUB 01 ~ COLOR SUB 48.
- Jump Mode
This allows you to activate and control automatic color changing.- Press the Mode button until you see JUMP SPEED 01 ~ JUMP SPEED 09.
- Use the Up / Down buttons to adjust speed.
- Press the Mode button until you see JUMP SPEED 01 ~ JUMP SPEED 09.
- Fade Mode
This allows you to activate and control automatic color fading and pulsing.- Press the Mode button until you see FADE SUB 01 or FADE SUB 02.
- If necessary, use the Up or Down button to select:
- 01 → Color Fade Mode
- 02 → Color Pulse Mode
- Press Enter and use Up / Down buttons to adjust speed.
- Press the Mode button until you see FADE SUB 01 or FADE SUB 02.
- Sound-Activated Mode
Light reacts to sound or music via its built-in mic with sensitivity control.- Press the Mode button until you see ♫ SUB 01 ~ ♫ SUB 04.
- Use the Up / Down buttons to select one of four Sound Modes:
- Sound Mode 1 → Color Cycle / Jump
- Sound Mode 2 → Color Pulse
- Sound Mode 3 → Color Strobe
- Sound Mode 4 → Color Cycle + Pulse + Strobe
- Press Enter and use Up / Down buttons to adjust sound sensitivity.
- Higher values → More reactive to sound.
- Lower values → Needs louder sounds to trigger changes.
- Press the Mode button until you see ♫ SUB 01 ~ ♫ SUB 04.
- App Control Group
This allows you to control up to four groups of lights using the- Press the Mode button until you see AP1, AP2, AP3 or AP4.
- Use the Up / Down buttons to select one of four App Groups.
- Press Enter to see the 3-Digit UID (Unique Identification Number).
⚠️The UID on your light will likely be different. - Open your smartphone or tablet’s WiFi settings and activate Wifi, if not already active.
- You should be able to find and connect to a WiFi network labeled Rockville-UID, but with your actual Unique ID.
- For the example above, the WiFi network would appear on your smartphone or tablet as shown below.
- Connecting to this network enables control using the Rockville Par-Control App.
- If prompted, select Always Connect.
- For the example above, the WiFi network would appear on your smartphone or tablet as shown below.
- Press Enter on the light again to stay in app mode.
- Open the Rockville Par-Control App.
- Note the four buttons toward the bottom of the screen labeled; 1, 2, 3 and 4.
- These correspond to the Mini IR4's four App Groups; AP1, AP2, AP3 and AP4.
- Select the App Group that corresponds to the Mini IR4 light(s) you wish to control.
- Press the Mode button until you see AP1, AP2, AP3 or AP4.
