Step-by-Step Instructions
1) Identify the onboard control buttons
The InstaParty 51 has buttons on the back of the light used to navigate menus and change settings:
- Menu
- Cycles through different modes and menu options.
- Enter
- Opens a submenu.
- Saves changes you make to a setting.
- Up and Down
- Scroll through settings.
- Increase or decrease values (such as speed or sensitivity)
2) Identify the DMX input and output ports
On the side of the light, you will find two DMX ports:
- DMX In
- Used to connect a DMX controller to the light.
- Can also be used to connect DMX signal from another light.
- DMX Out
- Used to connect the DMX signal from this light to another light (daisy chaining).
3) Navigate to DMX Address Mode
- Press Menu until you reach DMX address mode.
- Use this mode to set a DMX address for the light.
When to use DMX address mode:
- When setting up a DMX controller.
- When using the primary/secondary (master/slave) function.
4) Use Auto Modes (A1 through A6)
Auto modes run built-in lighting programs. Use Up/Down to change the speed settings, and press Enter when a mode includes a color-speed submenu.
A1: Gobo, derby, laser, and blinder speed
- Select A1.
- Use Up/Down to adjust effect speed.
- 1 is the slowest.
- Higher numbers increase speed.
- Press Enter to adjust color change speed in the submenu.
- 1 is the slowest color change.
- Higher numbers increase color change speed.
A2: Auto program with speed and color-speed submenu
- Select A2.
- Use Up/Down to adjust speed from slow to fast.
- Press Enter to adjust the color change speed.
A3: Gobo effect speed
- Select A3.
- Use Up/Down to adjust gobo speed.
- Press Enter to adjust color change speed for the gobo effect.
A4: Derby effect speed
- Select A4.
- Use Up/Down to adjust derby speed.

A5: Laser effect speed

A6: Blinder speed
- Select A6.

- Note: There is no color-speed submenu in this mode.
5) Use Sound Modes (S1 through S6)
Sound modes make the light change based on sound picked up by the built-in microphone.
S1: Sound mode with sensitivity control
- Select S1.
- Use Up/Down to adjust microphone sensitivity:
- 1 means the light reacts mainly to louder sounds.
- Higher sensitivity makes the light react more easily and change quicker.
- Sound mode S1 includes:
- Gobo
- Derby
- Laser
- Blinder

6) Turn Remote Mode on or off
Remote mode controls whether the included wireless remote can operate the light.
- Press Menu until you reach Remote mode.
- Press Enter.
- Toggle the setting:
- Set to On to enable the remote.
- Set to Off to disable the remote.
- Press Enter again to save.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
I cannot find a specific mode in the menu
- Press Menu repeatedly to cycle through all available modes.
- Use Up/Down only after you are on the mode you want to adjust.
The light is not responding to a DMX controller
- Make sure the controller is connected to DMX In on the light.
- Make sure the light is set to DMX address mode.
- If you are linking multiple lights, make sure you are connecting DMX Out from one light to DMX In on the next.
The remote is not working
- Make sure Remote mode is set to On in the menu.
- If you want to prevent remote control, set Remote mode to Off and press Enter to save.
