4 Pack MINI RF4: How To Set Up Master / Slave Mode

Introduction

The Rockville Mini RF4 4-Pack allows you to sync multiple lights without using a DMX controller. By setting one light as the Master and the others as Slaves, all lights will follow the same color and mode. This guide will walk you through the step-by-step process to set up the Master-Slave function.

Step 1: Choosing the Master Light

1. Select one light to be the Master (for this guide, we’ll use the last light in the chain).
2. Double-press the power button until the Color Group LED flashes once.
3. Set the Master light to a Color Group by pressing the power button once to choose between:
   • Red
   • Green
   • Yellow
   • Blue

For this setup, we will choose Red.

4. Press the power button until the Color Group LED is set to Red.

Step 2: Setting the Slave Lights

1. On all other lights, double-press the power button until the Color Group LED flashes twice.
2. Set the Color Group LED to the same color as the Master light (in this case, Red) by pressing the power button once until it matches.

Step 3: Sending Commands to the Slave Lights

1. Set the Master Light to RF Mode by double-pressing the power button until the Color Group LED is a solid color.
2. Take the wireless remote and set it to the same RF Group as the lights:
   • Press the RF Group button until the remote LED flashes Red (matching the Color Group).
3. Use the remote to select a color or mode for the Master light.
4. Once the Master light is set, turn it back to Master Mode by:
   • Double-pressing the power button until the Color Group LED flashes once.
5. All Slave lights will now follow the Master light.

Step 4: Changing the Light Mode or Color

If you want to change the color or mode:

1. Set the Master light back to RF Mode by double-pressing the power button until the Color Group LED is solid.
2. Use the remote to select a new color or mode.
3. Once set, return the Master light to Master Mode:
   • Double-press the power button until the Color Group LED flashes once.
4. All Slave lights will follow the new setting.

Step 5: Adding More Mini RF4 Lights

If you have additional Mini RF4 lights, follow these steps:

1. Set each new light to Slave Mode by double-pressing the power button until the Color Group LED flashes twice.
2. Match the Color Group LED to the Master light.
3. Once added, the new lights will follow the Master automatically.
