MINI RF4 Charge Package: How To Set Up Master / Slave Mode

Introduction

The Rockville Mini RF4 Charge Package allows you to sync multiple lights without using a DMX controller by using the Master-Slave function. This setup ensures that all lights follow the same mode and color as the Master light, making it perfect for DJs, stage performances, and event lighting.

This guide will walk you through setting up your Mini RF4 lights in Master-Slave mode, whether you’re using four lights or more.

Step 1: Selecting the Master Light

1. Choose one light to act as the Master (for this example, we’ll use the last light in the setup).
2. Double-press the power button on this light until the Color Group LED flashes once.
3. Set the Master light to a Color Group by pressing the power button once to cycle between:
   • Red
   • Green
   • Yellow
   • Blue

For this setup, we’ll use Red.

4. Press the power button until the Color Group LED is set to Red.

Step 2: Setting Up the Slave Lights

1. Double-press the power button on each Slave light until the Color Group LED flashes twice.
2. Set each Slave light to the same Color Group as the Master (in this case, Red) by pressing the power button once until it matches.

Step 3: Synchronizing the Slave Lights with the Master Light

1. Set the Master light to RF Mode by double-pressing the power button until the Color Group LED is a solid color.
2. Take the wireless remote and set it to the same RF Group as the lights:
   • Press the RF Group button until the remote LED flashes Red (matching the Color Group).
3. Use the remote to select a color or mode for the Master light.
4. Once the Master light is set, switch it back to Master Mode by:
   • Double-pressing the power button until the Color Group LED flashes once.
5. Now, all Slave lights will follow the Master light.

Step 4: Changing Light Modes or Colors

If you want to change the color or mode:

1. Set the Master light back to RF Mode by double-pressing the power button until the Color Group LED is solid.
2. Use the remote to select a new color or mode.
3. Switch the Master light back to Master Mode:
   • Double-press the power button until the Color Group LED flashes once.
4. The Slave lights will now follow the new setting.

Step 5: Adding More Mini RF4 Lights

If you want to add additional Mini RF4 lights:

1. Set each new light to Slave Mode by double-pressing the power button until the Color Group LED flashes twice.
2. Match the Color Group LED to the Master light.
3. Once set, the new lights will automatically follow the Master light’s commands.
