Introduction
The Rockville Battery Strip 24 wash light bar offers multiple placement options for different lighting setups. Whether you're wall washing, lighting up a DJ facade, or mounting on a truss, this guide will walk you through the best placement methods step by step.
Setup Guide
A.) Attaching the Feet / Brackets to the Light
Many of the recommended placements use the included feet. Here's how to attach them:
Step 1: Gather the Feet / Brackets and Mounting Hardware
- Take one foot and one screw knob.
- Insert the screw knob through the hole in the foot.
- Place a washer on the other end of the screw knob.
Step 2: Secure the Foot / Bracket to the Light
- Line up the foot with one of the holes on the side of the light.
- Screw the knob in to lock the foot in place.
- Repeat for the second foot.
B.) Wall Washing Placement
Wall washing is a great way to create a smooth, colorful backdrop.
Method 1: Flush Against the Wall
- Place the light directly against the wall.
- Ensure the bulbs face upwards for even illumination.
Method 2: Angled for Depth
- Position the light a few inches away from the wall.
- Use the feet to angle the light for a wider effect.
C.) DJ Facade Lighting
This setup works similarly to wall washing.
- Use the same positioning techniques as wall washing.
- Keep in mind the size of your DJ facade—larger facades may require multiple lights for full coverage.
D.) Truss Mounting
For overhead or stage lighting, you can mount the Battery Strip 24 to a truss using two lighting clamps (Rockville LC70: Heavy Duty C-Clamps 2-Pack recommended).
Step 1: Prepare the Clamps
- Unscrew and detach the wingnut from the outside of the clamp.
- Unscrew and remove the hex-bolt from the inside (using a wrench if necessary).
Step 2: Attach Clamps to the Feet
- Insert bolt through the hole in the foot of the light.
- Reattach the clamp onto the bolt.
- Secure it by tightening the wing nut.
- Repeat this process for the second foot.
Step 3: Secure to the Truss
- Loosen the butterfly screws on both clamps.
- Position the clamps onto an open section on the truss.
- Tighten the butterfly screws to secure the light in place.
E.) Charging & Power Options
One of the best features of the Battery Strip 24 is its rechargeable battery. Here's how to charge and power multiple lights efficiently.
Checking the Battery Life:
- The battery indicator will show when it's time to charge.
Charging the Light:
- Take the included power cable.
- Plug the female end into the Power In socket on the light.
- Plug the other end into a power outlet.
Daisy Chaining Multiple Lights
- Use the Power Out socket to electrically daisy chain multiple lights.
- This allows simultaneous charging for multiple units.
F.) Finalizing Your Setup
Once the light is placed and secured, you can:
- Select the appropriate colors, modes and configurations for your setup.
- Experiment with different placements and angles to achieve the best effect.
Conclusion
The Rockville Battery Strip 24 provides flexible placement options for wall washing, DJ facades, and truss mounting. With adjustable feet, battery power, and multiple lighting modes, it’s an excellent choice for DJs, event setups, and stage productions.
