Introduction
The Master-Slave function allows you to control multiple Pixel Hybrid Bar Pack lights without using a DMX controller. This feature is ideal for synchronized lighting effects across multiple units.
In this guide, we'll walk through setting up two lights, but if you want to use all six, simply follow the same steps.
1. Setting Up the Wireless Master-Slave Connection
Step 1: Choosing a Master and Slave Light
- Decide which light will act as the Master and which will be the Slave.
- The Master light controls all connected Slave lights.
- The Slave lights will mimic whatever settings the Master is using.
Step 2: Assigning the Same Wireless DMX Group
- On the Master light, press the Wireless DMX Group button to select a group (e.g., Blue).
- On the Slave light(s), press the Wireless DMX Group button until it matches the same color group as the Master.
Note: When you first turn on the lights, they default to DMX Address Mode (A001). Ensure you switch them to the correct Wireless DMX Group before proceeding.
Step 3: Activating Master Mode
- On the Master light, switch to an effect mode (e.g., Auto Mode).
- The Master light will flash red, while the Slave light(s) will flash green, indicating they are synced.
Step 4: Controlling the Lights
- Any changes made to the Master light will be reflected in all Slave lights.
- You can change modes, colors, or brightness on the Master, and the Slaves will follow.
2. Using the Remote with Master-Slave Mode
If using the wireless remote, follow this extra step to prevent accidental desynchronization:
Step 1: Disable IRCL on Slave Lights
- On each Slave light, press Menu until you reach the IRCL setting.
- Press Enter, then use Up/Down to set it to Off.
- Press Enter again to save.
Now, only the Master light will respond to the remote, ensuring all lights remain synchronized.
3. Using a Wired DMX Connection for Master-Slave Mode
If you prefer a wired connection instead of wireless DMX:
Step 1: Connect the Lights with a DMX Cable
- Take a DMX cable and plug the male end into the DMX Out of the Master light.
- Plug the other end into the DMX In of the Slave light.
- Repeat the process for additional Slave lights.
Step 2: Adjust the Settings
- The Master light will now control the Slave lights via the DMX cable.
- No need to use Wireless DMX Groups in this mode.
Conclusion
The Master-Slave function is an easy way to sync multiple Pixel Hybrid Bar Pack lights without needing a DMX controller. You can set up your lights using wireless DMX grouping or wired DMX daisy-chaining, ensuring a seamless and synchronized light show.
