Introduction
This article walks you through everything you need to know to set up and use your Rockville Flip PAR light(s). You’ll learn how to charge, control and position your Flip PAR light(s). This includes controlling with the IR remote and linking multiple lights using Master/Slave mode, in addition to using DMX (wired and wireless) as well as the Par Control mobile app (iOS/Android). Whether using an IR remote or the WiFi-enabled app; each setup process is designed to be simple, even for users with no technical experience. For our lighting pros and those looking to create fully customized lighting effects, any DMX Controller can be used for full (512 channel) DMX control; wired or wireless. Whether being used for wall washing, DJ facades or truss mounting, this guide will ensure you get the most out of your Flip PAR light(s).

Setup Guide
A.) Charging Your Flip Par Lights
You can also leave the power cable connected to run the light from AC power instead of battery.
Charging a Single Light:
- Locate the included IEC power cable.
- Plug the IEC end into the power socket on the Flip Par.
- Plug the other end into a wall outlet or power source.
- The charging indicator LEDs on the light will show that it is charging.
Charging with the Flip Charge Pack:
If you have the charging case, you can charge up to 6 lights at once inside the case.
-
Prepare the case.
- Open the case.
- You’ll see individual compartments for each light and a row of power sockets in the middle.
-
Connect the case to power.
- Use the thicker IEC power cable that came with the case.
- Plug it into the power socket on the side of the case.
- Plug the other end into a wall outlet or power source.
- Make sure the power switch on the case is turned off for now.
-
Connect each light inside the case.
- Insert each Flip PAR into its compartment with the power socket facing up.
- Plug an IEC power cable into each light.
- Plug the other end of each cable into one of the middle power sockets inside the case.
-
Start charging the lights.
- Flip the power switch on the side of the case to ON.
- All charging indicators on the lights should light up, confirming they are charging.
⚠️Always keep the case open while charging so the lights can get proper ventilation and avoid overheating.
B.) Positioning & Mounting
Using the Adjustable Head:
A key feature of the Flip Par is its adjustable head.
- You can leave the head completely down to have the light shine straight up.
- Or lift the head upward to angle the beam:
- Slight tilt for wall washing.
- Steeper angle for specific objects or areas.
Ideal flexibility for:
- Up-lighting walls
- Highlighting backdrops
- Lighting truss or stage elements
Mounting to a Truss (or Speaker Stand Pole):
If you want to mount the Flip PAR to a lighting truss, beam or speaker stand pole you’ll need a lighting clamp like the Rockville LC70.
-
Attaching a Lighting Clamp
- Locate the threading (for a lighting clamp) on the bottom of the light.
- Align the bolt from the lighting clamp with the threading.
- Rotate the clamp to screw into the threading; attaching firmly to the base of the Flip PAR light.
-
Placing & Adjusting the Light on a Truss, Beam or Speaker Stand Pole
- Loosen the clamps butterfly screw until wider than truss / beam/ pole diameter.
- Position the clamp on your truss, beam or speaker stand pole.
- Tighten the butterfly screw to lock the light in place.
- Adjust the angle of the light to direct the beam where needed.
