Introduction
This guide explains how to control your Rockville Flip Par lights using a DMX controller. Just like in the tutorial video, we will show you how to connect your Flip Par light(s) to a DMX controller with cable, as well as wirelessly. You’ll also learn how to set DMX addresses and channel modes, in additional to understanding what each DMX channel / fader controls. The steps are simple and suitable even if you’ve never used DMX before.
What You Need:

✅Rockville Wireless DMX Controller

✅Any DMX Controller w/ Rockville DMX-WTR Wireless Transmitter or 3-Pin DMX Cable(s)
DMX Control & Setup Guide
Wired DMX Setup:
You can control one or multiple Flip Pars via a DMX controller using DMX cables.

Controller to first light:
- Connect a DMX cable from the DMX Out of your controller to the DMX In of your first Flip Par.

Daisy-chain additional lights:
- Plug a DMX cable (male end) into the DMX OUT port of the previously connected light.
- Connect the female end to the DMX IN port on the next nearest light.
- Repeat for additional lights being connected with DMX cable to the controller.

Program lights for DMX response:
- Power on your DMX controller and determine fixtures / addresses for Flip PAR lights (consult user guide or manual if necessary).

Disable Master Mode.
- Press the Menu button until you see MASTER on or MASTER oFF.
- If you see MASTER on, use the Up or Down button select MASTER oFF.
- Press the Menu button until you see MASTER on or MASTER oFF.

Set DMX Mode and Address.
- Press the Menu button until you see DMX ADD 001 ~ DMX ADD 512.
- Use the Up / Down buttons to set the address to A001 for Scanner / Fixture 1, or to a different address corresponding to another scanner / fixture (specified by your DMX controller).
- Press the Menu button until you see DMX CH. SLAVE.
- Use the Up / Down buttons to select between 6-Channel Mode and 10-Channel Mode based on the level of control you need.
- 6-Channel Mode → Allows color mixing (Red, Green, Blue, White, Yellow/Amber, Purple/UV).
- 10-Channel Mode → Allows color mixing with Master dimmer, plus Strobe, Auto and Sound modes.
- For maximum control, set your Flip PAR lights to 10-Channel Mode.
- Press the Menu button until you see DMX ADD 001 ~ DMX ADD 512.

Use the DMX Controller (or control software) to control lights.
- Power on the controller, activate Scanner / Fixture 1, or the one(s) corresponding to your Flip PAR Lights.
- Skip the next section, go to the DMX Control Functions sections and reference the charts below to control the light(s) using the faders on your controller or controls within your DMX control software.
Wireless DMX Setup:
Using either the Rockville W2 or W4 Wireless DMX Controller up to 25 of our Flip PAR lights can be connected. You can also use any other DMX controller or software interface (with 3-pin DMX output) to control up to 25 Flip PAR lights, using our DMX-WTR Wireless DMX Transmitter.
- Turn on Flip PAR lights.

Power on your controller and activate Wireless DMX.
- If using Rockville W2 or W4 Wireless DMX Controller; Turn On the WIRELESS switch.
- If not using Rockville W2 or W4 Wireless DMX Controller; Connect the DMX-WTR to an AC power source.

Set all lights to the same Wireless Group ID.
- Press the Menu button until you see 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07 or oFF with the corresponding Wireless Group ID color.
- Use the Up / Down buttons to select one of the 7 available ID codes.

- Press the Menu button until you see 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07 or oFF with the corresponding Wireless Group ID color.

Match the Wireless ID on the DMX Controller or Transmitter.
- Locate the WIRELESS ID button on the back of the controller, or the ID Key button on the transmitter.
- Press the button to cycle through different colors.
- Select the color matching the Wireless Group ID set on each light.
- Example: Blue
- Once synced, the controller or transmitter should display a flashing red light, indicating a successful connection.
- Locate the WIRELESS ID button on the back of the controller, or the ID Key button on the transmitter.

- Press the Menu button until you see MASTER on or MASTER oFF.
- If you see MASTER on, use the Up or Down button select MASTER oFF.
- Press the Menu button until you see MASTER on or MASTER oFF.

Set DMX Mode and Address.
- Press the Menu button until you see DMX ADD 001 ~ DMX ADD 512.
- Use the Up / Down buttons to set the address to A001 for Scanner / Fixture 1, or to a different address corresponding to another scanner / fixture (specified by your DMX controller).
- The Wireless Group ID Icon will flash / blink, indicating it's synced with the controller or transmitter.
- The Wireless Group LED on the controller or transmitter should also flash / blink, indicating a successful connection.
- Press the Menu button until you see DMX CH. SLAVE.
- Use the Up / Down buttons to select between 6-Channel Mode and 10-Channel Mode based on the level of control you need.
- 6-Channel Mode → Allows color mixing (Red, Green, Blue, White, Yellow/Amber, Purple/UV).

Troubleshooting & FAQs
My lights aren’t responding to the DMX controller.
✅Make sure the DMX cables are fully plugged in; Controller OUT → Flip Par IN, OUT to IN between lights.

✅Ensure the lights and controller are set to the same Wireless ID / DMX color group.
✅Confirm light(s) set to the correct DMX Address and Channel Mode.
✅Check that the correct DMX scanner / fixture (e.g., Scanner 1) is enabled on the controller.
The lights are turning on, but the colors don’t match or don’t change together.
✅Confirm all lights are set to the same DMX address if you want them to behave identically.
✅Confirm all lights are in the same channel mode (all 6-channel or all 10-channel).
✅Check that your DMX cable chain is correct: Controller → Light 1 → Light 2 → …
