Introduction

The Rockville Pixel Hybrid Bar Pack is a versatile lighting system designed for mobile DJs, stage performances, and event lighting. This guide will walk you through the full setup process, including transportation, charging, positioning, DMX control, and remote operation.

1. Unpacking and Transporting the Case

The lights come in a heavy-duty road case, which protects them during transport.

Features of the Case:

• Wheels for easy transport (Two wheels have locks to keep the case stable when needed.)
• Two side handles for carrying with another person
• Butterfly locks to keep the case securely closed
• Stackable grooves to allow multiple cases to be stacked safely

Locking the Case:

1. Lower the lid.
2. Turn each butterfly lock to the left to extend it.
3. Align it with the latch, then turn it to the right to secure.
4. (Optional: Add a padlock through the lock holes for extra security.)

2. Charging the Lights

Each light comes with a power cable for charging, and the case itself has a built-in charging system.

Steps to Charge the Lights:

1. Plug the blue end of each power cable into the Power In socket of the light.
2. Plug the other end into one of the power outlets on the case.
3. Locate the IEC power socket on the outside of the case.
4. Plug the IEC end of the main power cable into the socket.
5. Plug the other end into a wall outlet.
6. Flip the power switch to the "On" position.

Charging Time & Battery Indicator

• If the lights are fully drained, they take about 6 hours to charge.
• To check battery life, turn the light on and check the battery level indicator on top.
• Keep the case open while charging to allow for proper ventilation.

3. Positioning the Lights

Each light includes adjustable feet for different mounting options.

Floor Placement for Wall Washing

• Flush Against the Wall – Creates a direct wash effect.
• Angled Away from the Wall – Adjust the feet to control the light spread.
• Lighting a DJ Facade – Use the same angling techniques for backlighting effects.

Mounting on a Truss

To mount the light on a truss, you will need two LC70 lighting clamps.

Attaching the Clamps to the Light:

1. Remove the wing nut and unscrew the bolt on the clamp.
2. Align the clamp’s hole with the mounting hole on the light’s foot.
3. Insert the bolt through both holes and tighten it.
4. Reattach the wing nut for extra security.
5. Repeat for the second clamp on the other foot.

Mounting to the Truss:

1. Loosen the butterfly screws on each clamp.
2. Align the clamps with an open spot on the truss.
3. Tighten the butterfly screws to secure the light.
4. Adjust the light angle using the knobs on each foot, then tighten to lock in place.

4. Using the Control Panel on the Light

Basic Controls

• Power Switch – Turns the light on/off.
• Menu Button – Navigates different modes.
• Up/Down Buttons – Adjust settings.
• Enter Button – Saves changes (Settings are retained after power off.)

Available Modes

• DMX Address Mode – Assigns a DMX address for use with a controller.
• DMX Channel Mode – Determines how much control is available:
  • 5-Channel Mode – Basic control
  • 14-Channel Mode – Intermediate control (Recommended)
  • 75-Channel Mode – Advanced setup
• Fail Mode – Defines behavior if signal is lost (Hold = keeps last setting, Off = blackout).
• Auto Mode – Select from pre-programmed shows.

5. Setting Up DMX Control

The Pixel Hybrid Bar Pack supports both wireless and wired DMX connections.

Wireless DMX Setup

1. Locate the Wireless DMX Group Button on the light.
2. Press the button to select a color-coded group (Red, Green, Yellow, Blue, Purple, Cyan, White).
3. Set your DMX controller to the same color group.
4. Once paired, the light will flash green, and the controller will flash red.

Wired DMX Setup

1. Plug a DMX cable from the DMX Out of the controller into the DMX In of the first light.
2. To connect multiple lights, daisy-chain by plugging a second DMX cable into the DMX Out of the first light and into the DMX In of the second light.
3. Set each light to the same DMX address and channel mode.

Master/Slave Mode (No DMX Controller Needed)

1. Assign one light as the Master.
2. Set the Wireless DMX Group to the same color on all lights.
3. Put the Master light into Auto Mode, and the other lights will sync.
4. (Optional: Disable IRCL on Slave lights to prevent remote interference.)

6. Using the Wireless Remote

Each light includes a wireless remote for quick adjustments.

Remote Functions

• On/Off – Controls LED power (not full power-off).
